as i was sitting here, gracefully turning the pages of the sophisticated publication otherwise known as glamour magazine, i came across an interesting tidbit that i thought i'd share with my blog readers:
apparently, a random study found that higher-iq women are less likely to get married. however, the researchers speculate that the brainy gals are the rejecters, not the rejected: "The brightest women are finding that men are just not interesting enough," says professor paul brown.
i don't know about you, but this may explain a lot of things.
news flash: "smart women bored by dumb men."

as a high-iq male, i just thought i'd throw in my perspective. high-iq women, whether or not the average man will admit it, are incredibly attractive. therefore, all of the dumb boys, who, because they haven't realized that they're dumb, are confident in both their charm and their gorgeous selves/inherent attractiveness, waste no time edging their way in to steal the heart of the youthful, intelligent girl. then, when said girl realizes that her boyfriend is very silly and very stupid, her heart is broken because the one she was sure was "cool enough" to make her life grand was an asshole. so, now the jaded, high-iq girl is so soured on boys that she pushes away the undoubtedly less attractive smarter boy who didn't develop the spine to engage her until his understanding that he was uncool was outweighed by the realization that all of the attractive boys are jerks to the girls they think they own, and a little depth of character goes a bit further than the latest john deere trucker hat and a new north face jacket. so the higher-iq boy gets rejected by high-iq attractive girl, and settles for high-iq slightly less attractive girl, convinced that attractive high-iq girl is out of his league. so now high-iq boy is marginally happy, low-iq attractive boy is probably ass-dancing with the low-iq "hot" girl at the local bar, oblivious to happiness in general, and high-iq attractive girl is left without options because she finds low-iq boy boring, and high-iq boy otherwise engaged in a relationship.
i'm not saying there is a fault in this situation, that is just how it seems to work out in a generalized situation.
