top reasons i'd like to be in kindergarten again.
~ the songs. singing just puts everyone in a happy mood, from "come sit on the rug" to "animal action". no need to feel self-conscious; you're excited to hear a bean bag dance song and flail around like there's no tomorrow. shake those sillies out until nap time.
~ drama is limited to someone not passing the juice at snack, or accidentally/on purpose kicking or biting you at recess... and is forgotten about five minutes later. let's all hold hands and sit on the rug.
~ i could clean tables with shaving cream and find endless amounts of fun in it. pretzel sticks and froot loops for snacks are used for "starting fires" or making s'mores. bonfires are created with chow mein noodles and peanut butter. rocks on the playground can be turned into priceless jewels that you must recover after several missions. creativity is endless. [translation: even the smallest things can be turned into hours of fun.]
~ even if your name is diego, and you are possibly the farthest from it, you are super excited to play goldilocks in the amateur play at the end of the day - you can hardly contain yourself. [translation: it doesn't matter who you are - you're pretty much just excited about everything.]
~ there is such a thing as monkeys who only like meat, not bananas, and they hide under the massive playground bridge during recess and hoot and holler at everyone passing by.
~ they're almost always smiling.
~ i could have endless amounts of love and affection for everyone and everything i see... having the same feelings for the lovely teacher that i do for the box of marbles. it's all beautiful.
~ boys and girls play innocently together. for the most part. there is no sexual undertones. everyone is equal. a girl can make a boy cry and he won't be embarrassed about it. a boy can push around a baby stroller, or pretend a baby is on the swings. it's all deadly, so they say.
i love the children.
could do without the poopy diapers, however...
